QueenslandÂ鶹´«Ã½Ó³»™s gas exploration potential

World Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»,

The recent release of petroleum and gas exploration acreage by the Queensland government could have considerable long-term economic benefits. According to the APPEA, this could boost the stateÂ鶹´«Ã½Ó³»™s reputation as an investment destination.

The government has announced the release of 16 400 km2 of land in QueenslandÂ鶹´«Ã½Ó³»™s north-west and south-west through a non-competitive tender process.

Develop resources

APPEA Chief Operating Officer Eastern Australia, Paul Fennelly, commented: Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»œThe Queensland Government continues to establish plans that will allow the next generation of the stateÂ鶹´«Ã½Ó³»™s resources to be developed.

Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»œIt clearly recognises that petroleum and gas production is underpinned by exploration that can potentially attract further investment, generate prosperity and create jobs.

QueenslandÂ鶹´«Ã½Ó³»™s economy

Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»œGrowth need not be achieved at the expense of the environment. QueenslandÂ鶹´«Ã½Ó³»™s existing legislative and strict regulatory framework provides certainty for all stakeholders Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»“ the gas sector, landholders, communities and government Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»“ highlighting what can be achieved when all stakeholders work together towards the shared goal of growing QueenslandÂ鶹´«Ã½Ó³»™s economy.

Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»œA strong resource exploration sector is the backbone of the petroleum industry.Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»
