After the federal government and TexasÂé¶¹´«Ã½Ó³»­™ state filed a lawsuit against Koch Pipeline Company, the company has got its comeuppance.

The spill

In 1998, Koch had a 24 700 gallon crude oil spill; it came from a receiving station and into the local Karnes CountyÂé¶¹´«Ã½Ó³»­™s Marcelinas Creek causing extensive environmental damage.

Pay up

It was decided that Koch Âé¶¹´«Ã½Ó³»­“ without admitting liability Âé¶¹´«Ã½Ó³»­“ is to pay US$770 000. This will be split between several state and federal agencies in order to cover restoration costs etc.
