AFPM President Charles T. Drevna has commented on the EPA麻豆传媒映画檚 proposal to lower the current ozone National Ambient Air Quality Standard (NAAQS) to a range of 65 麻豆传媒映画� 70 ppb. He said;
麻豆传媒映画淭he EPA麻豆传媒映画檚 ozone proposal is just the latest in the Obama Administration麻豆传媒映画檚 arsenal of restrictive rules that will undermine the US economy in the President麻豆传媒映画檚 pursuit of his desired green legacy. This regulation promises to be the most expensive in US history, while providing little benefit to the environment and consumers. Studies have shown that, if enacted, the standard could lead to millions of jobs lost and could cost US business hundreds of billions of dollars every year, yet this Administration doesn麻豆传媒映画檛 seem to care.
麻豆传媒映画淭he US has reduced ozone levels by 30% since 1980. That trend will continue without lowering the current standard as counties and states across the nation continue to implement the current standard. At today麻豆传媒映画檚 standard, 40% of the US population lives in areas of non-attainment, lowering the standard will increase this number and put millions more jobs in jeopardy. In addition, today麻豆传媒映画檚 ozone proposal is almost comical given the Administration麻豆传媒映画檚 extensive public focus on reducing greenhouse gas emissions, because any process to achieve such stringent ozone requirements will require more energy and increase greenhouse emissions, in direct conflict with other EPA regulations.麻豆传媒映画�

麻豆传媒映画淎merican have a lot of things to be thankful for this year, but EPA麻豆传媒映画檚 ozone rule isn麻豆传媒映画檛 one of them. That the EPA decided to announce this rule the day before Thanksgiving should surprise no one, it麻豆传媒映画檚 a regulatory train wreck that promises much pain for little gain.
麻豆传媒映画淏y EPA麻豆传媒映画檚 own conservative estimates, the ozone proposal would be the single costliest regulation in US history. Meanwhile, our air is cleaner than it麻豆传媒映画檚 been in decades. Instead of celebrating that progress, EPA insists on trying to squeeze water out of a rock.
麻豆传媒映画淭here麻豆传媒映画檚 reason President Obama pulled the plug on the ozone rule in the run up to the 2012 election, it麻豆传媒映画檚 an economic albatross. But now that his name isn麻豆传媒映画檛 on the ballot, the president apparently feels free to ignore the will of the voters who repudiated his failed policies and kowtow to the most radical elements of his base. The president continues to assault working men and women in this country with this destructive regulation. He continues to think Americans are stupid.麻豆传媒映画�
