The International Association of Oil & Gas Producers (IOGP) has announced the appointment of Gordon Ballard as its new Executive Director. He succeeds Michael Engell-Jensen, who is retiring after five years.

Gordon joins IOGP after spending 30 years working with oilfield services company, Schlumberger, on four continents. He became Schlumberger麻豆传媒映画檚 UK Chair in 2005. He has also served as Chair of the UK麻豆传媒映画檚 Oil and Gas Industry Council and of OPITO International, the upstream oil & gas skills organisation, and was Co-Chair of industry trade association Oil & Gas UK.

Commenting on his new role, Gordon said: 麻豆传媒映画淔or the foreseeable future much of the energy the world needs will come from the oil and gas that IOGP麻豆传媒映画檚 members produce: for heat, light and transport as well as a reliable, cleaner-burning complement to solar and wind power.
