Happy New Year! All of us here at Hydrocarbon Engineering hope you enjoyed the festive season. 2011 was a turbulent year, but IÂ鶹´«Ã½Ó³»™m glad to say that COP17, which was held in Durban, South Africa from 29th November Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»“ 9th December, ended the year on a more positive note for those fighting for a greener and cleaner future, as there were unexpected and surprising conclusions. It can be said that talks didnÂ鶹´«Ã½Ó³»™t start off on the best foot as Ban Ki-Moon, UN General Secretary, said Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»˜we must be realistic about expectations for a breakthroughÂ鶹´«Ã½Ó³»™ and warned that in these troubling economic times, a successful global climate treaty could be Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»˜beyond our reachÂ鶹´«Ã½Ó³»™.Â
